Staff bios:

Joe and Sue Graham were married in December of 1995 and have been on their honeymoon at Deer Creek ever since. After 15 years at Morning Star Ranch in Florence, Kansas, Joe accepted the project of restoring Deer Creek. They came with a goal to equip and disciple young men from the inner cities to prepare them for leadership roles in their indigenous churches. Learn more about this ministry on the World Impact Website. Their most memorable moment at the camp was waking up to a bear reaching in through their kitchen window to taste test some of Sue’s freshly baked bread.

Maren Nielsen, born in Iowa, joined staff in May of 1999. She is a former x-ray technician of 27 years. She sensed God’s call to move to Deer Creek and has been an integral part of the ministry ever since. Maren’s favorite part of camp life is enjoying the quiet and hosting retreat groups.

Luke, born in Kansas, joined staff in 2005 as the camp dog. His favorite time of year is when camp groups come out. He loves people and is very friendly and calm. He enjoys taking naps in the warm Colorado sun and also taking hikes.
